Eluna is proud to offer three scholarship opportunities for camp alumni! The Peter DeGeorge Family Foundation Scholarship is available to current campers and alumni of Eluna’s bereavement program, Camp Erin. The Eluna Trustees Legacy Fund Scholarship Program founded by Susan and Erik Hansen is available for Camp Mariposa alumni, mentors, and junior counselors. The Team Jesse Scholarship Program funded by the Ronald A. Mincio Education Fund is available to current Camp Erin campers or Camp Erin alumni or Camp Mariposa camp alumni, mentors, and junior counselors with a household member who has served or is currently serving in the military.
Through these programs, current and former campers will have the opportunity to receive financial support in the form of educational scholarships. The awarded applicant will receive a scholarship in the amount of $3,000 and will be paid directly to the school’s Bursar’s Office (or equivalent). Applications are due by Friday, June 14, 2024, and awardees will be announced in July 2024. Finalists may be asked to submit a video after applications are reviewed.
To qualify, applicants must be:
- A high school senior that is graduating in 2024 or current student in a post-high school program
- Planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college/university or vocational/technical school
- A current or former Camp Erin camper or an alum of Camp Mariposa
- Team Jesse Scholarship applicants must have a household member with a military affiliation.
All applicants must also provide a letter of recommendation from someone who is not a relative or legal guardian. The author should be someone who has had a positive influence/impact on how you have learned to cope and be resilient in the face of challenges. This may be a teacher, tutor, community leader, school administrator, or camp employee/volunteer who knows you personally and can speak to your accomplishments and journey.
